MAKING TIME FOR A COFFEE MEETING WITH A CLIENT….

Does this sound too simple to you?

 

 

 

Yes, it does to me as well – BUT, they say that the simplest of things can often be the best.

When was the last time you thought about doing this?

Well, there is no time like the present.  Every single business owner would love to take a few minutes out of their day and imagine if they could have a coffee, sit back and talk about their business, outside of their business, with someone who understands them and wants to assist.

It can take some planning on your part, so have your database organised so that you can easily slot times in to suit your business and that of your clients. 

Perhaps once a week you set aside at least 1/2 hour to spend with each client.

WHAT you don’t have 52 clients to spend 1/2 – 1 hour a week with per year?

You don’t now, but imagine if you are taking the time to spend with your current clients, creating a further rapore and building up more than just a slight client/supplier relationship.  It can lead to them providing more referrals and you starting to have more clients by the end of one year – ALL BY MAKING JUST ONE PHONE CALL!

Once you have had your coffee catch up with your client, make sure you make a note of everything which was discussed, even when your client advised that your son scored 2 goals in his soccer match on the weekend!

Remember – create a personal relationship!  So when you send that Thank You note to say ‘Hey, thanks for having a coffee with me the other day’ – send it in a card with a soccer image on the front!


OK – so you work from home and sometimes if you have small children, getting out to a coffee shop for a coffee with a client can be tricky!

Don’t sit back and think you can’t beat the system – you can!  Organise a SKYPE Call with your client – a Virtual Coffee Catchup…

 

 
It may not sound the same, but it can be just as beneficial as you are making the connection.  One thing you could do to make this more special with your client is to order and send across a cake to arrive for your client at a time just before your Skype call!

Anything is possible!

Whatever you do, make this part of your weekly schedule.  It may only seem like a small thing to do for your client, but guaranteed – not everyone is taking this step.  Therefore the next time your client is seeking someone to assist them to do something – WHO WILL STICK IN THEIR MIND?

So Today:

  1. Create your Weekly Schedule
  2. Plan where the 1/2 – 1 hour slot fits best in your week
  3. Pick up the phone to a client and slot them into your weekly catchups
  4. Pick a coffee shop closest to your client
  5. Make sure you phone the day before to confirm!

See it is SIMPLE, but EASY!
